Here's an odd question:

What is the difference between the Eureka 1400 series, 1900 series, and 2000 series? I'm guessing it may have something to do with the motor?

I really think it has to do with Eureka Williams being bought by Swedish Electrolux SE in the summer of 1976. EW model designations changed a lot after the takeover. The standard 1960’s model groupings were dumped pretty much completely by Electrolux - for uprights and canisters.

I also think the 2000 uprights all had metal handles, whereas the later Electrolux 1400 and 1900 series had plastic handles.

Correction: Electrolux bought EW in June of 1974…..so lots of numbering changes happened after that date.
