Eureka prince II fan jet

Here is a COMPLETE eureka prince II fan jet I found this at goodwill outlet for 5 BUCKS! it even has the caddy that sits inside that vac! it also has the red 3 position valve on the back for differant suction settings! it was super nasty when i got it and there wasnt even a bag in it. who ever had it before me used it with out one. So the motor was chalk full of lint and hair. Needed a really good cleaning and a new set of bearings. overall its in ok shape. It also has the shutter valve on the bottom to turn off the hose blower mode. very interesting and i LOVE the colors! Tell me what you think

Are you telling me this vac actually says "Prince" on it????

I have been trying to find out if indeed there was ever a Eureka Prince vac, since that's the name I use here at Vacuumland! We all know that Eureka sold Princesses for many, many years, but I have never actually seen a Eureka Prince vac in real life!

Let me know....and if yes, could you post a close-up pic of the top label that shows the word "Prince"?

By the way...I now know why this is called the Prince - it's the high end version of the Princess: you've got all the high end attachments there like the square horse-hair dusting brush and the wider upholstery nozzle! Enjoy your toy!

Dear Brandon,

Thank you so much for the wonderful video of the Eureka Prince. You are a great vac demonstrator! I love the fact that you are articulate, and informative and take your time showing the features of the vac. A pleasure to watch. I watched some of your other vac videos and they are great too. Wish I lived closer to Oregon - I would come and take a close look at all your Eurekas!!!! You are very lucky to have a pristine Dial-A-Nap 2042 - one of the best Eureka uprights ever made and a "Best Buy" top rated vac in Consumer Reports 1974 ratings. This is the vac series (2042, 2072, 2082) that "gave birth" to the successful line of Sanitaire commercial uprights on the market today.

It seems that you are very mechanically-oriented, which is great for vac restoration. Because of this, I was wondering if you could explain to me why you said the Prince's motor was kind of "dangerous." I don't know much about motors, so I was wondering if you could explain in layman's terms why the Prince has such a different motor from most canisters. And did you say that it is rated at 6 amps? Wow...that's pretty powerful for an early 1960's canister! I am dating the Prince pretty early into the 1960's just because the font used for "Eureka" on the handle is quite old and your don't see the famous curvey Eureka Williams "E" anywhere on the vac - that iconic symbol seems to become prevalent on all Eureka Williams products and documents by the mid to late 1960's.

On another note - it's really fascinating to see that the deluxe Eureka upholstery nozzle of the early 1960's still exists in stores today! That wonderful design is one of the best ever made. You can still see it sold with Eureka central vacs, and with with the first version of the orange Swedish Electrolux Oxygen power nozzle canister (Model 6988 - very highly rated by Consumer Reports when it first came out.) There must be a mold for that wonderful attachment somewhere in Bloomington Illinois - guarded by FBI agents!

Anyhow, I really appreciate the time you took to make this video - now I know that a real "Eureka Prince" existed!!!!
