Yes…so did Hoover. It happened in the 1980’s when either the Electrikbroom patent ran out, or when Regina was sold to another company. Both the new Hoover version and the new Eureka version had the same set up with the motor fan close to the nozzle blowing up the dirt into a tall filter bag. The dirt then fell into a plastic dust cup that could be removed to be emptied. I remember the handle on the Eureka was odd-looking - it had two posts - one in the front of the stick vac, and another in the rear - kind of like an upside down “u” shape. The deluxe version had a dial on the handle to adjust the motor speed.
They must have not lasted long on the market as they you don’t see any of the Eurekas anywhere these days. They were replaced with the Superbroom model that was all plastic with no fabric bag filter and featuring a gigantic dust cup.
