Victa???

That is a new one on me!!Its a shame you can't buy a decent lawn mower anymore, now you have to be a weightlifter to push one of the heavy things, when I was a kid I used to help a older man mow his yard,he had a 1956 Craftsman mower with a 2 cycle Power Products engine,18 inch cut,it was so light you could mow all day and not get tired...I would like to see a Victa, I never heard of that!

Nothing like a LAWN-BOY!

Best mower ever made...you can have all the four cycle engines you want...you will never have the power you have with the two cycle and they never die.

Light weight, cut evenly...start on the first pull everytime...unless of course the owner does something stupid...

You got that right!

There's nothin' like a lawn boy. Sitting under the Weeping Willow on those blustery days, and the lawn boy bringing you cool glasses of iced tea and......

Oh, lawn mowers.

I must look for one of those boys!

I must look for one of those Lawnboys; it's just that I collect so many different ones that I keep running out of space and money!

I know that one of the things that go on them sometimes are the crankcase seals...but they shouldn't be too much trouble to replace. I had one fail on a Victa 550 Pro, which was a bit of a swine to strip down since, although I had a suitable puller tool to remove the pulley (it was a self-propelled one) I had to borrow a special tool from another dealer to get the big-end undone.

I now have one of the Victa Special Tools for the big end..but there's more than one special tool, depending on the model/when it was made!

I wanted to steam ahead with my mowers...but have been put off by mum, who has just paid £850 to have crazy paving done and has had me cleaning oil spots off the path!

Sorry if I've deviated from the main topic on this thread..but you know how one thing leads to another!
Couldn't resist posting at least one Lawnboy video!

Here's a Tellus!

Hans, here's the Tellus I was talking about down in the cellar.

It needs some TLC, to say the least, including replacement of the leads before I attempt to run it. The hairdryer attachment looks especially lethal!

The hose has been codged up to work/keep dust in.

When I saw this machine listed on Ebay, it was in the original Tellus box. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the seller had discarded that box in favour of another one, probably in better condition.

Close-up of the dryer.

Here's the hair-dryer at close range. There's an attachment for the extension pipes, so the electrical lead must supply the heater only. I wonder if this overheats when the cleaners exhaust is not connected?

I wont dare ask if any of yous has used one to dry your hair, that is those of you who have any to dry..
Perhaps this blower was designed for another purpose?

Sorry, must have forgotton the picture

Dryer at close range..

As can be seen, the cable leading into it has deteriorated, as it has on the main cleaner and there are some bare shorted wired sticking out! I'll attend to that later, not plugging it in like that..
