I got a new brush roll for my Eureka Express. The previous brush roll as shown in this photo, is a cheaper model Eureka agitator. Here is the cheaper model. BLEHHHHHH

VGIII

This is a VGIII. Look at those nice blue bristles!! Just a little dust on the brush roll already, that's what the smudge is on the right side. That's ok, that means its cleaning the carpet!!!

This is Eureka Express model 8281D, by the way!! I need a new cord winder for this machine. If anyone can help, please let me know!

Original cord winder model number: 14656-3
Possibly replacement to 14656-3 is: 146546-19

Listed on Sears parts website as possible option: 26416-2

I would love further help with this!!

How did you get it to work? It looks like the belt on the first one is off to the side and the second one is a center belt? I'm so confused!

I think that the center groove on the VGIII is deceiving... :0)

Not quite sure why Eureka created a center groove on brushrolls that are powered by a belt on one end for the Belt View condition window. Maybe the design is more economical because it allows them to easily modify it for use in a classic Eureka F&G upright with the belt in the center? The rod in the middle of the sole plate is probably just a guard to prevent rugs from getting swallowed by the nozzle, even though it is in the same off-center position as classic upright belts. :-)

The center groove is strictly for the nozzle housing support. In reality you would not want to run a belt on that. The belt fits on the agitator on the end, just as the other. Eureka brush roll model number E53411-1. It is designed for this power head and used on the Beam Rugmaster power nozzle for central vacuum systems along with some Sweep and Groom power nozzles I believe.
