noooooo!!!!! service that motor!!!!
its diffrent than a convertibe but not difficult one you know what to do.....
you will need to remove the screws under the base to remove the hood, unscrew the motor form the base.....and get a pair of plires to remove the fan nut...
then you will need two (2) flat head screwdriver to remove the fan, wege one of the screwdrivers under one side of the fan, the wedge the other screw driver on the other side, and pry up with both scerwdiver and push the fan off the shaft.
you should the find two washers under the fan, 1 fiber grey washer, and one metal small washer. there should also be another fiber washer form ontop of the fan.....save them...
then remove the 3 screws from the berring plate on the top of the motor, then pry the top berrring cover from the top of the motor. its is fitted around the berring, use care and patince when removing it....do not bend it. then that will exspose the cooling fan and complete berring...
then remove carbon bruses and and mark accrodingley as you would any other carbon brushes......
then there are two nuts on the mid platform of the motor around bleow the top berring secton, remove those....
if the motor has been serviced in the past it will pull apart, but if it hasint then what you will need to do is, put the fan pully back on the end of the shaft....thighten it down so it does not lossten its self.....then take the partially dissasembled motor out side to a concerte serface on in a basement and grasp the motor base by both hands and and wack the fans pully straight up and down on the floor to release the armature from the berring (the belt pully serves as a saftey so the threads on the shaft are then saved) then simpley remove the two halfs of the motor once the armature as broken free.....
then remove the other two bolts holdong down the feild coil, and remove the long screws, they should fall out two holes at the bottom of the motor base. and note how the freil coil is in the mototr base, it need to be duplicated so the carbon brush wires are in the same palace.
then remove the armature from the motor top, how you do this is by noting the cut out in the cooling fan chamber, and simply lining the coolong fan and angleing it so it slipps out. and it will be assemled in the same manner...
so then prefom the basic service and do what is needed, remmber ball berring grease, sleve berring oil (just saying so for reffrence, this should be both ball berrings).....
and of corase reverse the precess to re assemble, the only thing i will note about the re assembly is, if you had to wack the armature out of the bottom berring, the i willl not snap in, do not fear or freak out, it will be just fine....=)...if so then it just needs to sit in the bottom berring as far as it will go, and just make shure it will turn freely....and make shure that the nuts for the feild coil are snug....this will help with the reassembly
i hope this helps, if you have any qestions....shoot me a email, and ill be glad to help you,=)
