Wow! One of my favourite Eureka uprights! Top-rated in Consumer Reports tests in 1974 just before Sweden’s Electrolux bought Eureka Williams.
The model number is strange: from the picture, this should be Model 2042 from 1973. If it has Edge Kleener notches on the ends of the steel base plate, it should be model 2043. Model 2042 was also listed as a Best Buy by Consumer Reports, since it performed as well as the deluxe 2082, but was less costly to buy.
The bag is definitely a replacement, the original bag would have had the same pattern but with a plastic “EUREKA” decal in vertical lettering on one side at the top.
Not sure what Eureka called that avocado green colour…I’ll try to find a 2042 spec sheet that may have the name.
Various versions on this classic Eureka have been made through the decades, including a commercial yellow Eureka in the early 2000’s.
