I bought this eureka at a garage sale and am planning on selling it. It works. Does anybody know what this vacuum could be worth?

Well, the rule of thumb is that an old vac is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. However, that machine does have a few things going for it. Firstly, its a chrome top which makes it more appealing to the eye, Im not sure if thats the original bag but if it is thats even more of a plus. Is the brushroll a wooden replacement or a funny shaped curved metal brushroll with black strips? If its a metal one thats a plus. Also runability, does it whine, does it kick, does it spark? Or does it run as smooth as a purring kitten? Now the negatives, the headlight lens is missing, which isnt uncommon. Overall is appears in great condition. On ebay, start the bid a fifty bucks and see what it does. On a private market, one seller to a butyer, I would offer twenty bucks, highest being forty. Hope this helps!

maybe right out, but as a starting bid....huh....it will just sit there. ok Emily let me tell you something. he was right is worth what someone will pay for it, and it is a nice machine. but that bag is NOT original, and that type of eureka upright is generally fairly common. so put on ebay and start at $9.99 as a staring bid and let the collectors decide what its worth. or if you would rather a private sale, id be willing to talk about it with you. but if your thinking just cause its vintage, its worth gold....your mistaken....vintage vacuums are a very miniscule market, and a very miss understood market, cuse there has to be a great knowledge to know what you have or accurately evaluate a machine.

That is a pretty Eureka Vacuum Cleaner That Anyone like to have now my opinion is
that you better find the value yourself and do not let other People will put a price on your stuff, because people do not like paying what things are worth, there are people who seek to get things almost free.

Couldn't agree more! I think if someone wants to buy it they will do so regardless. They pop up on etsy, eBay, yardsellr, craigslist, rubylane, the list is endless. Not to mention we've all watched "common" vacuums go for large sums of money on eBay. I think it has more to do with the sentimental value, than the rarity of the machine itself.

Thank you all for your replys. I learned a few things like the bag and the brushroll are not original that should be helpfull in evaluating what it's worth. I will do more research myself.

@1926700 No I don't think it's worth gold I bought it for $3 dollars so whatever I sell it for I will make a decent profit even if it's just 9.99. I just know that there are collectors out there and rather then throwing it away I thought someone might like to buy it judging by similar sales i've seen on ebay.

Well, at least you won't be hurting no matter what you get out of it. I haven't bought many Eureka vacuums, and the last one I bought similar to yours cost me $4 so I wouldn't be a great resource to give you an accurate valualation of your machine. Now with that said I haven't seen too many with the chrome hood go across eBay or anywhere else around here for that matter, so I would be willing to assume someone would want it either for their collection, or even to help re-live a childhood memory (for example it's like one Grandma had). I like your thoughts of possibly $9.99 as a starting price for it, then let the bidders fight it out online, you may just be surprised at how much interest there could be in it!
