I was out to the sales this morning and at a garage sale this cute "electric broom" just seemed to be calling out to me. I guess it is the bright red orange color that caught my eye. It is in really nice shape. I did take it apart and give it a good bath and a coat of polish. It came with the wrong bag installed, they had used a Regina electric broom bag, very small but it fit without leaking. I thought what am I going to use for a bag and it hit me to try a Hoover type C bag and it works like a charm. Presenting the Eureka model 123. I am sure this has to be from the 70's.

Very nice Terry! It is from the 70s, I remember them well. They came in that famous Eureka powder blue too, prior to the orange.

I love that Eureka. Eureka has always been one of my favorites. I just purchased on E-Bay the blue model, about two months ago. Mine came with a good Eureka bag.

If I get time I will take pictures. It is my understanding that the model you have was the top of the line, mine was middle and the one in the above pics was the bottom line model.

Enjoy it,,,, it may disappear in a couple of weeks...it should fit on the seat next to me on the plane.....ooopppsss

did I say that out loud!!!

Love Eureka Electric Brooms

Very nice find!!
My folks had almost that exact same unit.
My dad used to keep it in the corner of the family room next to the fireplace. It was his daily driver for cleaning up around the fireplace, very much needed since he made fires everyday during the winter season. He was always cold, very unlike my mother, who I take after. Dad wore long underwear from October to April. Dad would heat up the house and mom would open the windows to let the heat out ... funny. Anyway, I digress.
Back on topic - a very nice machine that I'm sure you'll enjoy. Can't wait to visit and see your collection.

Eric, just use a Hoover Type C bag, you have to fold the top down a bit but with the strong spring that holds the bag in place it works perfect. Terry

My two Eureka brooms from the 60's

These were house sale finds. The blue one is the economy 3.0 amp model and the green unit is the deluxe version with 5.7 amp motor. The green one has decent suction.

2 NIB Euerka Brooms

Here are 2 new in box brooms from an old hardware store that went out last year. One is a staight handle economy model and the other is the curved handle more deluxe version with extra floor brush.

Wow! Purty!

I walk past Regina type cloth bag 'stick vacs' all the time around here - just not my thing. Never been attracted to electric brooms until I saw these.

What a wonderful Jet Age shape and would look mighty nice standing next to the Hoover Floor Washers. I like the idea that the dustbag resides in its own shapely plastic container. Image now loaded into the forebrain for future Thrifting Jaunts.
