ET-H power nozzle - how does the height adjuster work?

I took apart my ET-H power nozzle ages ago to splice in a new pig-tail connector as it was worn out.

At this point I must have disturbed the height adjuster as I realised it doesn't adjust either which way and isn't grooming the carpet well.

There seems to be a piece of string which winds around the dial, this string has to hook into a metal spring for tension. I cannot work out how it's supposed to be. It's been about 10 months since I took it apart...

I know the ET-1 is better, I have one I need to dig out of storage. Unfortunately, it's black and my K3 is cream.

Additional info

Note what it says regarding the dial - it doesn't adjust for height but rather more ambiguously pivots the brush roll into the carpet for a deeper clean.

I'm not a fan of the ET-H. I had one with my K3P cylinder vac. It is a heavier PN, has no brush roll shut off and older mechanism for taking out brush roll.

Nothing stopping you from ordering a replacement white hood from SEBO UK for the ET-1 though, especially if you have one already with another colour. Just order one for the Felix Navy as those PN heads are usually white in colour or the Felix Vogue which is cream.

Hi sebo_fan,

Yes I realise it's a 'fake' adjustment.
I got my ET-1 back today, so I'm just going to live with it being black.

It's got a newer cord & winder I harvested from a 2010 model that was sold for spares, new hose and extension tube and ET-1 so it's not going anywhere any time soon. Also have a spare motor from that donor machine in the loft, it ran fine when I tested it.

At the end of the day, the K3 is a functional thing, not a design piece.

Cheers!
Keep up the good reviews, if you still do them.
