Hi all, I have a problem getting the right wires to the right poles on my vacuum.

I originally was shortening the cord as it enters the handle and forgot to make a note of what wires went where.

Does anyone know based on: 1 pink wire, one red wire and 1 black power wire (that attaches to the white power wire. But I don't remember where each of these connect to the switch.

I guessed was able to power the vacuum motor, but no beater. Note: I switched the whole handle stem from another vac to see if the beater works. AND, the power cord works.

See the pictures below.

If I remember correctly

Connections

red black
- + - +
switch
+ - - -
blue

on one side it's terminals 2 (red) and 4 (black) the other side is terminal 1 (blue)

then the white has a mate-n-lock round connector

Ummm,

Not quite getting it...all the terminals that are joined together prevent any thing from being attached.

So based on the PICTURE of the switch, the Left bank of terminals has 3 terminals available and right bank of terminals has one.

So is it terminal 2 is read and terminal 4 is black, leaving (pink/blue) to the only available terminal. ???

If that is the switch that came out of the machine to begin with, look at the terminals and see which ones have marks on them from a connector.

If there was a connector on the terminal you should see some scraping and most likely two shiny lines where the connector slid on the terminal.

The terminals that were not used shouldn't have any marks (scrapes, shiny spots, etc.)

Understood...

This is a new switch. I will look at the old one. It may be that I never needed a new switch.

Btw, with the red and pink attached, and the vac plugged in, If I touch either one with the black wire, both the suction and the beater bar run.

I will check everything this morning.

I was wrong....

See attached an image sent to me. It appears you do attach the black wire to a shortened terminal.

Tried it and yes, it works. Just need to reassemble everything.

Everyone who wants, save this image, just in case. :}

Thanks!
