Eliminating a common Dyson issue

So I stumbled upon the following YouTube video that was produced by an independent vacuum shop. The video shares a common complaint Dyson owners have when it comes to using the tools. Personally, I have returned a Dyson DC41 and a DC65 because I couldn't stand using the hose and tools on either of them. It's a constant wrestling match. The owner of the shop created a fixed-length extension hose to help solve the problem of the wrestling match. I know when my parents had a DC07 and DC17 I used to take their central vac hose and put it over the wand on both machines when I needed to clean the hardfloors or use the tools. It was a heck of a lot easier than having the Dyson roll right into your heels or tumble over. I wonder how many other shops will begin putting something similar together.

Same problem

This is not just a Dyson problem. I personally hate those stretch
hoses. While ago I bought a 6 meter (20 foot) hose for my Shark Rotator. It didn't help much. In fact it is heavy and same problem. It pulls vacuum back and most of the time whole vacuum tips over. It is extremely frustrating.
Nowadays I just use Shark in the upright mode (when I use it). Canister vacuums are so much easier for tool use. In fact only upright I use nowadays is the Kirby Gsix. At least it has a normal hose what I can use without problems.

I typically use my central vac for the hardwood floors and above the floor cleaning jobs but I do find the Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away a little easier to handle than the Dyson when it comes to tools.

stretch hoses and uprights

I'm also not a fan of stretch hoses, one came with one of my backpack vacuums, I tried it once and that was it. If the suction gets sealed off at all, the hose jerks towards the vacuum, sometimes quite hard. Fortunately backpack hoses are standard size and I already had a regular hose that would fit. This thread also reminds me why I much prefer canisters over uprights. While it may be possible to use some uprights with attachments, it's usually very difficult without the vacuum tipping over. With a canister, especially a power team, you can clean the carpets just as well using a power nozzle and the attachments work much better, it's the best of both worlds.

WARNING!

If you are a Canadian, don't bother trying to contact this company or order the kit online. I contacted them, & they WILL NOT ship to Canada.

Also, although they state the hose kit will not fit a Dyson DC33, DC24 or the older models prior to the DC25, when I spoke to the man at the shop he did say they do have a separate kit available for the older Dyson's, so you just have to ask for it.

Something tells me though the shop didn't make this kit themselves, though. My guess is they sourced a hose from another brand, like the extension hoses Panasonic & Riccar/Simplicity sell for their uprights, & modified it for the Dyson's.
