Hi A friend of mine found this vacuum cleaner at the local dump and i know nothing about it, can anyone tell me how old it is and if they were any good or not?
Its in working condition but it really stinks of dog.
Thanks in advance
Mark

The picture shows it next to my Hoover 1346A at work.

In all honesty, the Vitesse/Velocity uprights are some of the worst vacuums I've ever used. They have pretty much the worst cyclone design I've ever seen, which causes them to clog up and lose suction after even just 1 room.

If it's still working, just shove it on eBay. It may be crap, but it would certainly be better than no vacuum at all. Even if you don't get much for it - there could be a poor family out there in desperate need of a cheap vac. If it's broken, I'd agree that it's not worth saving.

I agree i dont like wasting things but this thing stinks really bad its like its sucked up sick and doghairs and alsorts and i am too busy at work to clean it all out and it probobaly needs new filters so its not really worth it.
If i did have the time to clean it up i would give it charity rather than profit from it.

On another not it says 1900w on the cleaner but the rating plate says 1800w
Watts that all about :-)
See above picture.

Can anyone solve this mystery for me?:

Why do all Electrolux vac model numbers begin with the letter "Z"?

It's been something that has mystified me for years.....

:-)

Can you post some pictures of the cyclone unit? And then I&#

It's a low efficiency, nasty, mess. A lot like the Vitesse only the filter is in a different place and has the weird plastic cover over it trying to look multi-cyclonic. A bit like the Samsung bagless uprights

I had a Vitesse, utter pile of poo it was, but it was in good, clean condition so I managed to trade it in for £18 at a vac shop and put that money toward a Kirby G5, and the best bit, the Kirby used a third of the electrical power and didn't flick debris at my feet!!! :P

Try cleaning it up and see what a vac shop owner would offer, if you got it free, then there's nothing to lose... :)

Cos it's higher in the alphabet than Hoover's Uxxxx model numbering? :&#92

You know David - with the "U" in the Hoover model numbers, it kind of makes sense, as the "U" represented the word "upright." I think the canister model numbers all started with an "S" - maybe for "suction only"?

Still can't figure out the "Z" for all the Electrolux vacs.....hmmmmm.....

:-)

Greetings!

Hello Im new, just joined today though from other sites.

The Vitesse is a loud, noisy cheap vacuum - but if you take off the hose and clean it out as well as washing the filter, allow to air dry or chuck it in a pillowcase with a tea towel and bung it in a tumble dryer, you'll only have to wait for the hose to dry. These machines are not nice, but they do the job with regular maintenance. Put it on Gumtree for local collection. Someone may well like it!

Turbo500

How many Electrolux Velocitys have you used and which wattage were they?
