Hello all, I'm back! Here's my last purchase, a marvellous electrolux mod Z 65, from the Sixties. I'ts very interesting to see the wide use of plastic, look at the hose and and at the telescopic wand!
However it's in perfect condition and it was a great deal, about 10 € on ebay, thing that makes the cleaner even better!!! It's extremely quiet and powerful and I love the color combination!
Take care all,
Tommy

Thanks Tommy, what a great machine. I am always curious about vacuums in other countries. Comepare the differences and
priorities with the tools and attachments. This is such a basic, good design. I noticed the clip on the back of the machine
so one can hang it on a hook for storage, What a great Idea.
State side engineers would never go there!
Thanks again
Norm

Very nice with a much more "modern" clean look styling I think than the US and Canadian models. I'm surprised that it doesn't have wheels though. Was that model only for the Italian market where styling was/is always lightyears ahead of most countries.

Thanx all, but this model was not for the Italian market,it was made in Sweden fot the European market and othe countries.
I purchased it in Germany!

I found one of these once in a ditch down a country lane (LOL) was useless mind, no hose and no detatchable cord.

lucky find for me though, was a good few years back.

Electrolux Z65

Hello Tommy

Nice vac, what a find, this was one of Electrolux`s best selling models in the 60`s over here, I`m fascinated by the wand, is it painted metal or plastic?? is it a replacement or the original?? the ones here where metal and the motor filter end was all cream not pink...the "Flip-Over" combination "Step Toematic" floor tool is the early design with the smaller lint nozzle, this definatly has that "Electrolux Sound", heres our version,

I managed to find this as a complete kit with the Two Way dusting brush, the Crevice Tool , Radiator Brush, Sprayer and the Air Polisher, complete with instructions, Guarantees and spare dustbags...cheers, Mike

What a great find Mike, I am amazed at how your collection has grown!! I often think back to our first meeting at Robert's in 2001 and you were just starting out collecting if I am not mistaken. I really think that is a neat rug nozzle. How does it work on bare floors? Terry

hello Mike, yours looks like a more recent model than mine: back to alluminium wands and rubber hose handle cover.
However they were wonderful machines, my compliments on yours.
Take care, tommy

Hi Terry, you are quite right I came to the 2001 convention with only a Kirby Tradition..and of course we came away with our goodies, you came away with your pink GE swivel top and me my Lux XXX, gifts from Robert...AND of course do you remember climbing all those stairs to the top attic at the Estate Sale, and me finding the Sweeper Vac fo £5 dollars...I darnt count how many now..LOl....do you think it was meant to be??

Hi Tommy, this was one of the earlier UK lux`s, the later ones didnt have the extending pole, but we always had the metal tubes and the rubber hose handles...I love the pink filter housing, ours was cream like the rest..

Cheers, Mike
