The Electrolux model L was touted as “The world lightest weight heavy duty vacuum cleaner” at the time. I am interested in knowing the weight of one of these without the cordwinder attachment which makes it substantially heavier. Particularly the blue or gold models with the plastic bag cage. I don’t have an L at home but my Mom does but her scale is not digital and kinda crappy so I can’t get an accurate weight. Basically stand the cord halo end of the vac on a digital scale to get the weight. Might have to step on the scale first to get it to turn on.
Please leave out the bag or place a fresh bag in the unit before weighing as sandy dirt can add weight and remove any attachments from the clip except the standard cord.
I have an Aerus Lux legacy which is very light and comes in at 12.4 lbs so I’m curious as to how the L compares. My model G and Silverado models come in at 17.5 and 17.8 lbs respectively as some of the heaviest models.
Lately I’m finding it annoying to drag and haul around a heavy canister as often I pick it up with one hand and guide the wand with the other. The Lux classic and legacy are lighter but don’t have top handles to carry them level so aren’t so easy to carry around as say a model L would be.
My Mom still has the model S and I have yet to weigh that but clearly that is one of the lightest I’ve ever used along with the XXX without a cordwinder.
