During cleaning,...QUESTION: Clog and motor running hot
I noticed the Hepa filter housing was warped making it difficult to take the filter out and put back in. I used a heat gun carefully using leather gloves and reheated the plastic to make clearance.
Cleaned the nozzle, minimal clean up there. However, when I removed the wand hose, I could see and feel a clog. Turned out to be a big one. After removal, suction was restored. First thing out was a piece of coated wire, like a electronics cord twist tie. Probably the cause.
Now the real question, did the clog cause the motor to overheat and start melting the motor cover housing? With the Hepa out and clog gone, SEEMS like the exhaust is very warm....normal??
