Hi Vintagerepairer

Yes, I knew you meant hat!

As I was the man who did all the paperwork for the V.C.C.C. I had to deal with all sorts of things. In those early days I had my mom who was an executive secretary in Chicago cover all lettrers from potential members. Very few people knew this and one member a cross-dresser made his interests known. In a very overt letter asked if he could attend a meeting in drag? As I said, my mom read and answered the letter. Needless to say, he never attended a meeting.

In the mid 80's the 'suck' jokes were out of control, and it was a fulltime job to keep things 'clean.' Problem was that some people thought off color jokes are funny, I don't.

Sorry for the pun, broadlands (using your screen name). Couldn't resist!

I'd love to see photos of the complete set, especially the polisher.

Alex: Take a chill pill !

I love off color humor and jokes. But then again, my sense of humor is similar to Joan River's sense of humor.

If I had a dime for every time someone came into the Vacuum Museum and said "your job must really suck", I'd be a millionaire. My response is always "if we do our jobs right, they will" (referring to the quality of the Simplicity and Riccar vacuums made in the factory adjacent to the Museum).
