Electrolux upright

Does any one know if lux made a gardian or epic upright in 220v , I am looking for one that I can use regularly.


if not does any one know what the brush drive motor looks like or do you have a picture. The vacuum motor I can easily get in 220v but the brush motor might be a problem.


 


I am not very familiar with the different lux uprights but the epic and guardian look nice abd I want to try one out to see what all he fuss is about.


 


If any one has a upright lux they are wanting top sell pls let me know

See the link for a thread a while back on the Contemporary forum about a "Globaltek" Renaissance cylinder, which I'm fairly sure was 220v, and there was a Guardian upright from the same company. Not sure if they sell worldwide. These machines looked identical to the North American versions, save for the name, of course, and some different attachments.


 


To the best of my knowledge, there were two Electrolux/Aerus uprights with an attached hose; the Lux 4000 and Lux 6000. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong on that. They also came with a separate electric hose and Sidekick mini power nozzle.

yes I.ve been doing some research tonight and the 4000 & 6000 were the models with the hoses, what I do not understand is that they are no longer available, from what I.ve read from various members on the forum and what Isee on there website they almost seem to be going backward in design, No offence to all you lux lovers I like the older ones but the new ones don't seem as good as the ones they replaced

can't find an upright on that link , probably taken it off the market. Uprights aren't big in europe exept the UK .


 


I think I must buy a nice epic that needs a motor or something like that ship it to Cape Town and convert it to 220 v, know of any cheap ones?

Hopefully some other users will chime in, but from what I understand the new Guardian upright has a noticeable improvement over the older models in suction and airflow. Why they did away with the attached hose, I don't know. Perhaps cost-cutting? Since they already offered the separate electric hose, there's no real need for two. Just a personal opinion, but I don't like uprights with attached hoses and tools, so the older Lux design suits me well.


 


As you can see from my Epic thread, I just picked up an Epic 3500 for $20, and I'm very impressed with it. I see various older (well, between 15-25 years old) Lux uprights for sale now and again, at least locally.


 


As for the design, Aerus seems to have gone backwards in most ways, style-wise, to about 30-odd years ago

. The middle-of-the-line Lux Legacy canister model looks much more top-of-the-line than the Guardian.

If you find another epic or similar model let me know, It must have the headlight though ( very fussy ) I wish all upright vacs came with headlights.


 


Im not much of a canister an though I do have a lot of them I have always prefered uprights.


 


did you se my post on my LUX canister from  lux of sweden , not electrolux . some one said they work with aerus in some form of way .

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: medium;">I'm not sure what the relationship is now between Electrolux of Sweden and Aerus, but Aerus is still trying to hang on to the Electrolux, or Lux name as tightly as possible. Its such an iconic name; "Aerus" really doesn't convey anything, at least not yet, even though the machines are in a lot of ways the same as in the old days. </span>

Interesting to see an old style plug on a modern cleaner. Is it 15 amp?

thats our style plug , 3 pins round , I believe the UK had similar ones a while ago
