I have the same vacuum, except in red, and it is not labeled Electrolux. Marketing...Mine is a Eureka Superbroom! Brush Up. Very strange.

My mom has it as well also Eureka but the cordless model with the removable battery pack on the back.

I thought this forum was about vacuum cleaners ;)

(although i did indeed have one of these, it was a bit different though, electrolux superbroom deluxe or something)

lol :p

HAH! That is a good one! But I bet you are right. Probably a DC motor. I mean, all it is is a fan, motor, and another motor...all made of PLASTIC!! Oh, well...I guess this is all China does for us!

~~K~~

I remember when these Eureka SuperBrooms (Electrolux's acquisition of Eureka in 1974 as stated in another thread explains the name in the UK, and why it wasn't used in the US at the time) were new, approx. 1995. They had the rechargeable TheBOSS version, which was DC-powered with a revolving brush, and the 110V straight-suction version. How I wished they would come out with an electric (AC) revolving-brush version, and they finally did in 1996, just in time for my 8th birthday! So you can guess what I spent my birthday money on...a brand-new SuperBroom BrushUp! Even at that age, I didn't think it was a bad cleaner (certainly better than the DC cordless version); aside from being fun to use, mine always picked up whatever crumbs or schmutz I dropped on the carpet and I kept the filter clean. The reason I only had it for 2 years was that the hinged nozzle (which was not detachable from the unit like the Singer I also had at the time; a stupid design in my opinion) got hung up and no longer moved.

I have a picture of me with the machine right when I bought it...if I find it I'll scan it in.

OMG lol I want one! along with the brush up :)
I was gonna buy this for £3 at the carboot sales in 2012 summer, for £3 and then I continued to search the carboots and I saw a morphy richards Pod corded upright stick vac! I had to get it, had a crevice tool and hose! it was so cute, £3 too! I couldn't resist.
Regards
