Electrolux Sleeve Bearing

How does one gain access to the sleeve bearing on an Electrolux motor? It's the bearing on the commutator end. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

that would be it! How did you get the cover off?

I simply tapped on it all around with a screwdriver handle, to gradually loosen it up enough to insert the blade between the cover and the frame.

Thank you for the help! I finally figured it out. I took a long slender punch pin and slipped it through the bearing from the inside and tapped gently with a hammer. The cap popped right off. I don't know why it takes me so long to figure out simple things sometimes!

I feel just like you sometimes, I'd also say that I prefer to ask others before I try blindly , risking to break something I couldn't easily replace and feel dumb afterwards.
