I just came across this on Youtube and thought it was interesting. I noted how they describe the machine as being "sealed" for more efficiency. It also happens to be my favorite 1980's model.
In the early days NO advertising,then magazine ads starting in 50s.I have been told of radio ads that had a 'See no,Touch no,Breathe no dust'jingle.There were also TV ads for Olympia and then at introduction of Discovery with toll free no to contact nearest branch.
Yes, I believe that Electrolux was never big on TV advertisement. I don't recall EVER seeing a TV commercial growing up or since. I remember VAGUELY thinking how odd that was given Hoover and Eureka, etc. flooding the TV's. But they did advertise on TV because there is 2 more on that guy's website. One is for the Olympia and one is for the Discovery II upright. I will post the links below.
