I was recently using an Electrolux Sidekick attachment, when I noticed a squealing sound coming from the brush roller. I cleaned any noticeable hair and debris off of the roller, but when I re-assembled everything, the sound was still present. When the roller is detached, the Sidekick’s motor is perfectly quiet. I looked at the roller’s endcaps, but they appear to be pinned on. Is there any way for me to repair this attachment without having to buy a new brush roller?
Thanks.

Belt

Is there a belt and a motor in this attachment. If it has a motor that vibrating could put tension on the belt.
If it is belt driven I'd say replace the belt. If it has neither I'd suggest put together wrong or a piece is broke or missing.

Update

Both sidekicks I looked up are elecric and belt driven.
If you take it apart take off bottom half of attachment. You should see motor belt and brush roll. I'm betting the motor vibrates and belt squeals.
Wear rubber gloves and be dry when doing next test. Hold motor in place by hand and turn on vacuum. This will stabilize the Motor and belt won't make noice. You have to place motor in and correctly and it won't vibrate as much fixing issue.

"--endcaps--"

Common and easy fix in most cases.Remove brush, gently tap axle at end with small punch or nail till plastic cap comes off, pull axle out, clean strings/debris/etc,lightly lubricate, push cap on with both ends in same position to go in slots of housing.Should be no problem with motor/belt,reassemble.
