I got the DVD this week of the Electrolux Renaissance Informercial from a fellow collector. It's really a great show, starting out with brief glimpses of the V, XXX, LX and F, then the stage for the informercial has several "kiosk" type displays with the V, XXX, XII, G and LXI (note it has a chrome cord halo!)
I loved the Renaissance the first time I saw it -- I said many times, if Lurelle Guild sat down in 1937 and designed what he thought the Electrolux would look 60 years in the future, he would have come up with something like the Renaissance! It really has a great retro/futuristic look that in my mind classes it with other Electrolux greats such as the XXX and G.
I'd love to have a Renaissance but don't have one. The newer versions, the Guardians etc., lost something in the translation to the new blue and white color scheme and they don't appeal to me. And after a few months of use, the white body really shows the bumps and bruises. The dark color of the Renaissance is much classier looking and stays "nice looking" a lot longer.
I watch eBay for them but they always seem to go way up. I guess it's just too recent a model, relatively speaking, to go for "chump change."
