Hello.

I am in the process of replacing the motor from my 1995 Electrolux Renaissance C104A. The motor has a black plastic shroud covering it that I can't seem to remove. There are no screws holding it on, so I assume it snaps on somehow. I've tried a flathead screwdriver but I can't seem to remove it and I am concerned about breaking it, as it is very soft plastic.

Does anyone know how to remove this or have any ideas?

Thanks.

flat head

There is no trick that I have found just a set of flat heads and a good bit of patients. The rubber shroud has a very snug fit around the base of the fan casing.

If you cannot figure out how to remove the shroud, you may want to take the machine to a qualified repairman (if it an important machine). Just be careful with those little motors, they are easy to damage!

Thanks all for the assistance. I was able to basically pry it off...kind of like using a manual non-crank can opener. Then I ran into another problem which I am posting a new thread for.
