i believe i have a electrolux 1453 olympia special that i inherited from my mother. Unfortunately she did not have the power nozzle or power wand for it any more and i purchased a set that was pn-4a off of ebay. When i tried to use it it works fine for a few minutes then a weird sound starts coming from the motor that sounds like loose metal and the power nozzle turns off. It will reset but each time i press it it turns off quicker and quicker until its only on for a few seconds. Is there anyway to repair this?

Unfortunately, I don't have a definitive answer for you but it something's overheating and tripping the breaker. The reason it's doing it at increasingly short intervals is that you're letting it cool down just enough for the breaker to reset but since it isn't cooling down completely so it's getting to the 'breaking point' quicker and quicker. I'd start by checking the bearings. It may just need lubricating but it may be more serious.

I would check the motor

It's a good idea to disassemble and lube and clean your power nozzle motor and roller brush bushings. Blow out the motor with an air compressor and lube the bushings with turbine oil, available at Grainger or any hardware or auto parts store. With a good cleaning and lubrication your power nozzle should run like new! Electrolux- Dude

how to lube power nozzle motor and bushings?

I'm having the same issue with my power nozzle stopping and going. The vac is model 1453 brown and tan. I've opened the nozzle, and it all looks as clean as it could be. Please explain how to lube the motor and bushings. Thanks :)
