It seems that I have started to collect Electrolux Save - N- Pay banks. Your mission, should you decided to accept it, is to fill in the blanks. I have seen on Ebay a small little leather "book", with a model XII on it. I also saw a little calendar thingy with a model XXX on that. Now, for the blank spaces...Anything between the XXX and the G ? Particularly wondering what they did for the "AE".

Electrolux Banks

I don't know much about the Electrolux banks aside from the fact they are very cool. I have looked at them on eBay myself. They are simply the cutest things.

Are you interested in Lux collectables in general or just the banks? I have a display case full of lux stuff so if you want an inventory all lux collectables that I'm aware of let me know.

As for the banks I have never seen anything prior to the model G. I have never seen anything later than the Epic 6500. I have never seen any other banks of plastic canisters besides the 6500. Everything between those two is quite rare with the exception of the 1205. I only have the G and the 6500 in my personal collection.
List of Banks I Have Seen:
Model G
1205
Golden J
Olympia (seems more common)
Silverado
Diamond J
Grand Marquise
Epic 6500

I don't recall seeing any Super J, or Ultralux banks but they probably exist.

Canadian banks also exist including red, green, and a chrome plated one.

I also own a slot machine bank from a Vegas convention in the 1980s if you want to include that in you list.

I have never seen a bank or anything similar for the E or AE. I do have an ash tray with a Model F on it. I also have a set of tie clasp and cufflinks with the E, and another set with the AE.

Wow, fast responses, kids

thanks. I would love to see your display case... However, I'm sure that I would "have to have one of those, and one of those". It was bad enough when I bought a pair of Compact salt and pepper shakers. LOL Thanks for the Bank Info. Hey, Electrogirl, I know they are cute. Charles, Cuff links, I've not seen those. But I did see an ashtray with a G on it. I was "watching" it on Ebay and forgot to bid in time.

OOOPPS!

I meant to list the banks I have aqcuirred: two tan "G"'s one 1205, one silverado,( I actually bought that one from a Lux dealer when they came out), an Olympia, and most recently, a green/turquoise "G". So, I guess that's six. I just might have to keep going on the others. Originally, I only wanted the ones in miniature of the actual machine that I have. But I don't have two tan G's, or a silverado. That blows that concept. Rick

If you stick to just the banks you will have a nice collection. You already have a good start by getting your hands on the rare Silverado bank. When it comes to ashtrays the model g version seems quite common so you will probably have another oportunity to get one if you just keep looking. I have also seen the ashtrays in the form of a Super j and a Model 30. I have yet to see a Model F version so pictures of that would be great.

As far as my own stuff goes, I'm just going to make a list. If you want pictures of anything just ask.
List:
Model G bank in box
Model 6500 bank in box
Electrolux "Sure Bet Bank". Styled like a slot machine advertising various models.
Electrolux Digital Transforming Calculator, Calander, and Clock
A pair of Diamond J wine glasses
A purple tie
Deck of playing cards
Silverado 1 ounce .999 silver art bar
Tie tack
10k gold Model 30 "50 a month club" tie bar
Model 30 25th anniversary pin (like the one on Charlie Lester's site)
White Plastic Pocket Knife
Wooden 75th anniversary pocket knife
Cheap wrist watch with Electrolux Logo
Nicer Watch with holgraphic face showing the floor pro and epic 6500
Bulova watch with Electrolux Logo (a favorite of mine)
Old style upright carrying bag with cut away picture
3 Self Sealing bags with advertising on the cardboard collers.

Incomplete List of Stuff I wish I had:
Pen with dirt sample under clear window
75th anniversary poster with the model 30
Diamond J Glasses
1920s Euro Electrolux Ash Trays (has logo only, no model vacuum)
Electrolux Logo Mudflaps
Tons of other stuff I can't remember

I encourage everyone to list their stuff so we can make a giant list so everyone can get an idea of all of the stuff that is out there.

WOW!!

Well, holy cow....When I sold Lux's at the transition from Golden J to Super J, I kept the Electrolux Tiger Newspaper introducing the Super J. I Think I have a Gold Workbook, you know, that you kept credit forms, business cards, etc. in. Other than that I have nothing else 'cause you have it all. Fantastic!!!! Were you a dealer? Branch manager?

Oh My

Wow! I am speechless as to the amount of promotional Lux items out there...who da thunk it? Off to eBay I go....

Filter Queen Salt/Pepper shakers (two sets)

(I also used to have a set of Compact S/P peppers - salt was white, pepper was red - these, along with several other miniatures, were stolen in the "Great Vacuum Cleaner Swindle" that some of you may recall.)

"Ghost Busters" toy vac. I always thought the designers of this modeled it after a Lux 30/LX. You also see a ghost figure on a clear stand brandishing a dust-buster!

When you press the latch on front, the top of the canister opens up and another ghost pops up, brandishing a mop! (also note the black hose, which has a maroon nozzle on the end)
