Great vacuums, but.....
I am a bit annoyed at Electrolux for not going the extra mile (extra kilometre?) and providing a proper way to store all the attachments. I have never been a big fan of models that have overly bulky, "gas-pump" hose handles, because I can't sneak the hose into tight spots as I can with the old fashioned simpler hoses. And so adding an attachment holder to the handle makes matters worse. The earlier version of the North American power nozzle Oxygen (Model 6988) has continuously been top-rated by Consumer Reports, but it too did not provide a proper way to store all the tools. Electrolux concocted a tool-holder that slid into the "parking" slot on the back of the unit, which was fine until you needed to turn the vac on its tuches for storage or stair cleaning.
I know that this new version of the Oxygen stores a dusting brush and crevice tool under the hose handle, but why did they forget about the upholstery nozzle? This little thing has to get left behind in the back of the closet along with the fancy floor brush.
It bugs me that all the manufacturers have decided not to provide old-fashioned tool boxes or wall-units, especially since you are already paying over $400 for these vacs. And the last time I saw a vac-maker provide on-board storage for all 4 basic tools (dusting, crevice, upholstery, floor) was the Kenmore Progressive version of 2001, and the Hoover Powermax of the 1990's.
I know that some of the Royal suction canister vacs provide clips for all 4 tools on the wand, but can you imagine trying to sneak the wand under a bed with all those things hanging on for dear life?
Give me back those tool caddies of the 1960's!
