Electrolux Model XXX attachments & Crevice Tool Q

Hi,

Could someone either post a page of a Model XXX manual showing the attachments and their names or just list the names? Also, I'm wondering if all of the versions had the same attachments or if they were changed or updated? Someone told me once that because of the War the attachments were made in a different material than aluminum. Is that correct?

Also, I'm curious about when the TEXTURED crevice tools were first used--was it the tan Model G, 1205, Golden J, or later? Were there lots of different styles of crevice tools over the years or just a few? From what I have found there was an update for the tan Model G and for the Silverado (shorter).

Mo XXX-The early versions included suction adjuster to place between hose and att.Otherwise they used basicly the same 5 atts with most changes to improved rug nozzles and a few change to simplify manufacturing and maintain quality.The plastic rug nozzle was war years only only and rare today.As plastic improved it was used for upholstery and dusting brushes.Companion tool holder was post war.
Crevice tools-Went from wide fibre XXX version- to narrow plastic blue G-to modern(tan) type on tan G-blue for 1205-then white through Olympia(texture added on white)-then gray for Silverado-sandstone color when Diamond Juilee was introduced and short crevice with DJ to fit new clip ahead of above floor storage position on handle.

If you could show me a pic of the blue (G) crevice tool and tan (G) crevice tool I would appreciate it. I didn't know that they came up with two new designs in the '60s. Also, how long did they make the textured ones--through the DJ? I'd just like to know in case I see any in a thrift store.

And could you tell me where the Model XXX's id is? I'm assuming it's something like the stamp on the metal trim of the LX and LXI. Are these the names of the Model XXX attachments--Floor Nozzle, Bare Floor Nozzle, Upholstery Nozzle, Dusting Brush, Suction Adjuster?

Crevice-Starting with the tan G all long crevice are same except colors.Texture remained on all after being added during white version.Short was also in Discovery UR att kit.(Long crevice will not fit snugly on Disc plastic hose end.)If you do see cheap at thrift store you should get as they are often missing on otherwise comeplete Eluxs.
XXX-ID is stamped under rear on early and around bag opening on later.The suction adjuster and an early drapery/upholstery nozzle that looks a bit like a computer mouse were on early XXXs and hard to find now.Also demother and spray bottle were included.They could be useful but were often unused and easily found now.The other atts were-rug nozzle,floor brush,upholstery nozzle,dusting brush and crevice tool.All but crevice would fit on Companion holder of about 1948 and later.

BTW, how can I tell the difference between an aqua Model G crevice tool and a 1205 crevice tool? I'm assuming they're the same color.

Elux crevice

The G crev is a hard plastic with wider narrow opening and can be somewhat fragile.The 1205 is same as all from tan G foward and is a more flexible and durable plastic.The colors are different as are vacs.The G crev uses old logo as seen on XXX,tan G has Electrolux in plain lettering and all later have new logo seen on side of 1205 and later.
And more crevice trivia-In late 50s early 60s there was a period that the crevice tool was consided optional.On some otherwise identical G post cards you will see both with and without crev.Later made standard.

reply 7 is 1205(and L or CB from same time)
8 is tan G,earlier seen with plain ELECTROLUX lettering
11-Silv atts should be gray(also the matching Special)
13-MQ should be sandstone
First Olympia might have had smooth white,later textured.
The 3 that appear white may be recent with the plastic blue/white Lux.(There are many vacs with good atts and more atts but these 3 are among the very best and will do almost any cleaning job.)

Thanks for the response. If you ever come across the original Model G crevice tools with the plain lettering (blue and tan) please post them.

As for the crevice tools that appear to be white, I thought that that type of crevice tool was discontinued after the 1521s after the short ones were introduced.

The blue G crev is different(wider & flatter)and hard to find.
On the white atts maybe we should call them ivory/white & white/white.The brighter white atts would be recent with the blue/white Luxes that continued a standard plastic model(Classic?)tank that used the old style metal wands.Also some would be used on central vac & upright.

1) So the blue Model G crevice tool design is different than the ones of preceding machines, right? I always thought they were the same except for the colors. If you happen to find a pic of either of the original Model G crevice tools please post them (rugsucker or anyone else reading this).

2) Good idea to distiguish between the colors of the 1205 J through Olympia One and the later models. I agree that the color used on the '70s cleaners was an ivory--not brilliant white like the Aerus-Lux machines.

3) I didn't realize that some of the combination tools had a ivory/white combination. Was that how they were made, or have the colors of the different polymers shifted over time?

4) Do you know if the uprights had/have the same attachments as their canisters of the same eras? If not, do you have pics and information on them?

One place to see the G with atts is now in SuperMarket-'EBay bidders---Lux literature'-reply 9,showing the rare GH and the 3 G atts.
Combo tools will be 2 different shades on models including AE,AF and G(both).Others may have different shades from replaced parts such as the upholstery side 'wings'.
Uprights(and standard tank,CB and central vac)usually had same atts as deluxe tank depending on model and att kit.Discovery style URs had a standard kit with hose,2 plastic wands,short crev & above floor in cardboard box.Later had deluxe kit with plastic caddy/carrier that had long crev,electric hose and Sidekick.
