I finally got one of my dream machines! I have wanted one since I started collecting Electroluxes, but these seem to be the hardest to find.
It came with the manual it's not in the greatest shape but I can scan it for you guys if you want.

Is there a wrong way to put the front on? It seems to fit both ways.

I often wonder about the bag cover too.

Great machine you've got there. Congratulations on finding one of your dream units!

This is how I keep my cover on. The lines seem to follow those on the body of the machine.

Nice find!! This is one of my favorite Electroluxes also.

If you look at the illustration on the cover of the Model R instruction booklet, it's (deliberately?) ambiguous -- not really drawn in such a way as to show which way the cover is put onto the machine. However, the illustration on the Model S manual clearly shows the cover with the "pointier" side up. Not that it really matters at all, since it does go either way. I can never decide which way looks better!

Here's the Model S instruction "manual" cover. (Actually, the "manual" is just an 8.5 x 11 single sheet printed front and back). Sorry the image is so unclear, but it's the only one I could find on my hard drive, and all my vacuum cleaner archives are still packed up. But if you squint and look closely, you can see that the "pointy" side is up.

Really nice and your museum looks like mine a few years ago.. now I can't even get in the room to retrieve anything at the back... sad

Were the original rear wheels on a Model R gray or ivory? The ones on mine are ivory, and they have little slits in the circular crevice--like you'd have to secure hubcaps (no, they're not from a Model 1205 or newer). I wonder if they used the same style as for the Model G but made them ivory instead of teal? Or perhaps the first versions had gray wheels and the later versions had ivory?

Any factual information would be most appreciated.
