Is this the economy model sold as an acquaintance to the Models:

1205
Golden Jubilee (1210)
Super J

Or is this a model sold between the higher-end models' changes?

Torquise Model L

What a great machine, have had at least 2 of them over the years. It was the "Budget" model "L" which went with the 1205, starting in the late 60's, then
evolving in basicly color only. As Lux went to the 50th anv. model, biege and tan. the L went to a beige color. then as the Super J came out things did not
change much on the L. I think the Gold one was next, but can not remember the
Reg. Model lux that it was the budget to? Someone help me out or correct me if
I am wrong on the order of evolvment. The L ended when the new plastic body machines came out. The Ambasitor, Model 90, and so on, were made in the Georgia
plant. The early ones, sold for awhile at Catalog Discount Retail stores. Like
Service Merchandise here in Ohio area. They had the same hose connection to the
machine that the Canadian models had. I have two of the plastic case ones that I
have used for at least 10 years. Great suction with New Hoses, of course.

Top of cleaner. What does the clip behind handle do? Does it hold the crevice tool? I know the clip on front holds the small combo duster tool.

Now my 1205 has its economy "companion" cousin, the model L. The only thing I need is the CB commercial/industrial vacuum.

Cord-O-Matic

Will this one work on the Model L? Or do I need the "donut" style reel like it shows on the owners manual?

Hi Floor-a-Matic! The clip behind the handle on your Model L is for holding the plug end of the cord. The automatic control dial isn't missing, the L's didn't have them. It would also have had the same tools, wands, and PN as the 1205, with the hose also being the same except for the machine end. My Grandparents had that same color of L for many years, great little vacuum. Enjoy, Toby G.

Here's My Model L

Turquoise - to go with the B-8 of the time and the 1205. Gorgeous and one of my favorites. Lightweight, powerful and bags and parts still available!

Hi guys:

If memory serves correctly there were 4 versions of the L

The first was white with teal trim and was out with the teal model G

The second was tan with brown trim and out with the brown model G

The third was blue with white trim and was out with both the 1205 and the Golden J

The last was gold with white trim and was out with the Super J

Collector2 is right.Model L always had pn outlet for optional nozzle.Went from metal to plastic bag housing as it evolved.Was known as worlds lightest weight heavy duty vacuum.I use one frequently.Was also available during the Silverado period as a factory rebuilt along with G and 1205.The vac was rebuild in currant colors,metal tag riveted on,and packed with new hose and atts.Your cw probably wont work because of needing square plug for back of L.I have a blue cw but seems to have at least spring problem.I will take closer look to see if is fixable while you decide if you want your L to be bigger and heavier.The L was replaced with brown Special about 1980 continuing linup of both deluxe automatic and standard nonautomatic.Both having same hose and atts.

The cord winder pictured above will not fit your Model L. There are two screws on each side that hold the cord winder in place. To install a cord winder you simply removed the halo, and put the cord winder in its place.


 


Nice model L by the way. I enjoy using both of mine.

Turquoise Cord Winder

I'll take it, despite the spring problem.

Sometimes the motor sounds like its slowing down, then reverts to normal speed. What could the problem be?

The handle is broken halfway; hopefully they're still available?
