Hi Folks,

I have the Model L and it works fine but no longer have any use for it, but hate to toss it or give it to Goodwill as they will probably toss it.

Not sure if it is worth anything or if a collector may want it.

Suggestions, comments ?

Thanks,

Tom

I doubt Goodwill would toss it but they'd probably just sell it for next to nothing. That said, I could take it off your hands if you get up toward the Triad area.

Please post some photos of the vacuum cleaner.

A bit of history concerning Electrolux USA's Model L:

•It was the budget or "limited" model—lacking the automatic shut-off
or the integrated cord winder of the standard models from 1963 to 1979.

•1963 to 1966—white with teal-green trim & wheels
•1966 to 1968—tan with ivory trim & brown wheels
•1968 to 1975—teal-blue with ivory trim & wheels
•1975 to 1979—honey-gold with ivory trim & wheels

Value is increased with these options:

1) power nozzle (original for the tan was the model PN-1 with tan bumper)
2) cord winder (in tan)
3) original tools: dusting brush/upholstery tool (ivory with tan "flaps"); floor/rug tool (ivory with tan bumper and brush plate); narrow space cleaner (tan)
4) original users manual

Best.

P. S. I do think that Goodwill discards most vintage appliances; although I've seen a Hoover Handivac (autumn gold and seal greige) and Kirby DS-80 at two local stores in the last couple years.
