"parts?"

I would just call it a bearing retainer. If you rotate the bearings with notch facing bottom plate you can imagine how it fits.I would think any nearby vac store or DTD salesman would have parts or extra PN.

Although noisy, the PN1 shouldn't sound like something is rattling. I can post what one looks like assembled correctly with the bearing retainer, if you like.

OK...pics as promised. You will notoce the correct bearing keepers. Sintered bearing notch to face UP towards you as in the pics. This is a very old PN1 off an aqua G that was given to me by my mother-in-law back in the 80's.....it was old/worn then. It's one of the many PN1's I've resurrected over the yrs. As the PN1's got close to the PN2's in production, there we some minor mechanical differences....but not for the purposes of this conversation.

Sorry for the filthy hand (for the anal inclined), I'm deep into the bowels of my car.

Your keepers are non-existent....the brush roll is jumping around inside.  Hard to believe nobody said anything from the pics......probably because of the tone around here sometimes. Actually Jimmy nailed it in Reply#17 but without pics, it's hard to fathom what the strip looked like.

Most everything older Elux is NLA....so we search old vac shops or buy donors.

Bearing Keepers

So does anyone actually have any spare bearing keepers that they can part with? If not I guess I will try to find a vacuum shop and see what they can do!
