Hi;
I spent about an hour or more searching the site but cant find an answer, so any help is appreciated.
I have two "wounded" Electolux canister vacuums.
First, an Automatic F model that works well except the power cord is rotted and must be replaced. The cord has a unique plug where it connects to the switch so I am not sure that a generic un-terminated cord can work. Any replacement suggestions?
I also have a nice model G that works, but the motor is staring to make bearing type noises, mostly when coasting down after shutoff but also a little when running. Based on the comments on this site, the new generic motors are not well regarded. Anyone repair these motors, since it seems not too difficult to remove same.
Thank you.
Mark

Redneck simple,

A pre-Heritage Kirby cord will work as a replacement for the Model F, I'm not sure if cords are still made, have you tried Electrolux's Website?

I'm no Electrolux expert, I'll let the Experts take it from here.

Cord to fit

the AF and AE, R and L I have been able to find and have in stock. If interested to talk about them PM me.

G Repair..

Other than a Hoover Constellation motor, the Electrolux is the EASIEST BY FAR to work on, The rear bearing is a sleeve which is no trouble, and the fan end has a ball bearing which can easily be replaced or washed out with any solvent "Gasoline works fine" dried and repacked with grease.
