Hoping someone can help. I have a Lux 1521. I am the original owner and have taken very good care of this machine. Over the last 10 years I have had constant problems with the auto cord real not retracting the cord all the way. I have taken the machine apart probably 5 times to try and rectify the problem. I know you have to be very careful with the coil. The coil at times has come off the wheel that supports the coil when the cord is pulled out if that makes sense. Anyway, I have tried varied lenghts of re-applying the coil back on the wheel. The coil has an open notch that attaches to the wheel. I ususally run the coil around the wheel several times. Is there a rule of thumb for tention so the entire cord retracts?
My question is am I missing something? Should the coil be run arounf the wheel a certain amount of times so it does not come loose? Are there any other techniques I am missing in correcting this issue?
I have numerious Luxes. This is the only model I have had a problem with.
Any help would be appreciated.
