Keither,
More great, amazing and like NEW vac history!
A few thoughts as I was there for the tan and later uprights-
The hose adapter should be turned so the extention covers the dirt passage and hose inserted from rear.
The early att kits had a flat rectangular box similar to the later first Discovery att box. When a salesman wanted to check out an upright with atts the service mgr would fill the box off the shelves with the UR converter & carpet shield and then the same standard hose and atts that would be with a Mo L.Later att kits were larger, folded in the middle and were packed at the Elux factory.
The locking tabs on the hose converter started as all plastic and changed to part metal when that proved to be a weak point.
The lighter hoses were not as durable as they became later.Very rare to see one in any condition much less as above.
The early UR was troublesome as mgmt demanded it to be introduced before the engineers were ready. It soon became a very dependable vac with many exclusive features including a 2 belt and magnetic clutch sytem that required almost no attention(UNLIKE a later colorful vac with 2 belts and clutch).
