I purchased a new PN5/PN6/PN7 belt and installed it today on my vacuum. It is very loose and slips a lot. I don’t see any way to adjust the tension. The vendor says it’s the right one. Any thoughts on what I can do or if I have the wrong belt?

Hi,

You should be able to loosen the motor lugs and readjust for the correct tension.

Best.

I just checked the Aerus website, which lists three different nozzle belts (I've added some clarification):

#0493 - PN-1 through PN-4

#48359 - PN5-2003 (non-JEI motors--often listed as replacements for PN5, PN6, & PN7, but including other models made until 2003)

#49431 - JEI motors (2004-present)
Canister Power Nozzle Models: N137Z, N115Z, N137Y, N137X, N115Y
Commercial Upright Models & ProTeam: U129Q, U129S, U129U
Lux Guardian Upright Models: U147G, U147H

Aftermarket part #s I've seen are:

26-3300-08 (PN-1)
26-3310-04 (PN-2 - PN-4)
26-3315-02 (PN5, PN6, PN7, & others including Veridian U139K)
26-3320-02 (Canister model suffixes X, Y, Z; Commercial Upright model suffixes Q, S, U; Household Upright model suffixes G, H)

So, it could also be that you bought a 26-3320-02.

Thanks to you both. I’ll check both your suggestions. I loosenened two motor bolts the other day but the motor wouldn’t move. Maybe I missed one. I’ll also see if there is another number on the belt. On it it says PN5,pn6,pn7.

You're welcome.

I just checked my Special Edition power nozzle, though, and the motor isn't adjustable; so yours may not be either. I thought they all were, but apparently only some are.

Also, my power nozzle model 7B's belt is stamped "Y1 LA 43409", so that fits the information I found below as far as being compatible with PN5-PN6-PN7 belt:

"This belt is used for the Electrolux PN 5 Through PN6, PN7 power nozzles. The vacuum belt is about 3-1/4" in diameter and 5/16" wide.

"Fits Models: 7527-9, 7527-27UY1NV, 48959, 7527-11 U, Y1 LA 43409, 7527-11U Electrolux uprights and PN5, PN6 and PN7 power nozzles.

"It also fits all electrolux uprights made since 1986 including Electrolux Discovery II and Discovery III, Discovery Advantage, Genesis, Genesis LX and Genesis LXE, Epic 2500 and Epic 3500, Lux 3000, Lux 4000 and Lux 6000 upright vacuum cleaners."

So, I'm stumped. Maybe your motor is a JEI replacement motor that takes the newer belt?
