I have the original hose for my Electrolux '89 which has the pigtail and trigger switch on the handle. The hose leaks air and I was wondering is it possible to take the handle and machine connector ends with the pigtail off the hose and put them on a vinyl replacement hose? I remember I asked my Aerus dealer once about doing this and of course they said no way, can't be done, you have to buy a new hose. Well the new hoses don't have the trigger switch for the power nozzle which I would like to keep.

Gary, Dave's had good success refurbishing his leaky hoses with liquid latex, he'll probably chime in here

Yes indeed. Gary. The liquid latex treatment works airtight wonders. Used it on cloth weave hoses as well as the saran weave. In fact I will soon be doing two red saran weave Electroluxs, now I have hoses all sorted out to their correct machines. There's a definite method to it for guaranteed success. There's a thread somewhere where I descibed it in detail but perhaps we should talk on the phone soon. I have free longdistance in Canada on my cellphone. Email me your contact info.

Dave.
