Hey--

What's the plastic 'thingy' on a vintage Lux hose where the cord is connected from the hose to the power nozzle? Is it just called a cord connector, or is there another name for it? The photo (borrowed from an Ebay listing) shows it clipped onto the metal curved end. I'd like to locate one to replace the one that's missing on my friend's.

Also, can anyone tell me if the later Model Rs had teal or white cord clips (mine has white)? I understand the the early ones had a gray hose cord with white cord clips that were like the Model AFs, but since the aqua Model Gs had teal straps I'm wondering if the Model Rs did also? BTW, my Model R's hose cord is gray--like the power cord.

That brings to mind the colors of the attachments of the early and late Model Rs. The power nozzle I have for mine has teal trim, so I'm guessing the attachments that came with mine also had the teal trim?

Lastly, would any of the Model Rs had a white cord winder like the Model AFs...as an option? I'm debating whether to put one on or look for a halo (currently it has a gold cord winder--likely from a gold Model L.)

Summary:

1) Name of 'cord connector'
2) Cord clip/strap colors--early and late Model Rs
3) Attachment colors--early and late Model Rs
4) Model R cord winder option (at original purchase)?

Hose

The hose end you are looking at was the first 1205 electric hose. The end at the curved handle end was part of the hose as one piece. It wasn't out long before the handle changed. The plug of the cord would fit on either side of the connector.
