Hey everybody, I recently got a Lux Model XII on Ebay. The hose that came with it is a XXX Era Hose in beautiful condition. The hose end, however, is for Canadian machines. For correctness sake, I would like to change the hose end to the American version and display the hose with my XXX. I have a XXX hose in terrible shape that i can salvage the machine end off of. So, my question is, How do you change the ends on Lux hoses? I have scoured the archives looking for an answer and my search has turned up with nothing. I would really like to know how to change both ends for future reference because I really have no clue!

You'll need a wire cutter, a roll of electrical tape, and a sharp knife. Wrap the hose with the tape (to prevent the cloth from fraying) as close as possible to the machine coupling. Two turns of tape is enough. Cut the hose in the middle of the tape, and use a wire cutter to cut the wire. The old machine coupling is now free of the hose. Pull the wire from the machine coupling (along with the bit of hose still inside), and you can use Pliobond glue to glue the 'new' hose into the 'old' machine coupling. The same procedure is done with the handle end.
