I recently came into a collection of Electrolux vacuums that a friend saved from a house that's being demolished in our town. Some are in almost new condition! They range from Model XXX to Model L. In the collection of attachments is a wooden bare floor brush with a chrome opening for the wand. The rubber bumper is brown with "Electro" on one line and "Lux" below it. This brush doesn't seem that it would have gone with anything that I have. But would it have gone with one of the Model XXXs? I have three of them. Thanks!

Bill,

That brush would have gone with the model XII, the machine prior to the XXX. Picture to follow.

The XII

Was made from 1930 through 1936. It may have hung around a while after that too, as a lower - priced model. I got this one out of the garbage and fixed it up. Got many of the tools from EBay. Fellow club members made the rest of them available to me.

Rick those pictures are just perfect. What kind of camera did you get? That sure is one beautiful model XII, the nicest I have ever seen!!!!

That's exactly the one! Now I just wonder what happened to the Model XII vac that came with it? My friend brought me three Model XXXs, two Model LXs (one is like new. Both are early LXs with cord winders), one Model E (like new), one Model AF (beaten up), two Model Gs (one turquoise, one bronze and both in good shape), and one Model L (near perfect condition too. It is cream and turquoise with a cord winder), and one Epic 6500 SR that seemed almost new. There is also one model that I'm not sure of. It has the same color scheme as the AF but seems more basic. But unlike the AF, it does have a power nozzle connection. It's all beaten up too. I gave the 6500 away to someone who needed a vacuum. It didn't seem very collectible and I have plenty! LOL! We already had a metal Ultra Lux that I bought about 15 years ago, plus I had my Grandmother's Model XXX. Now I have four of those! Maybe I should take some photos and post them. Thanks again for the info. Bill

Oh, yeah. I also have a turquoise G that I bought at a garage sale. The bearings are bad so I'm using it to fix up the one my friend gave me. The only thing it needs is a new wheel on the front axle. I'm still working on that.
