Electrolux Ergorapido Ion 18v

I started out a year ago with a Pronto 9.6v, which qualified for the exploding battery recall. They sent me a new Ergorapido Ultra+ 12v. It was top of the line a couple of months ago. Then I used that once and it wouldn't charge. So they sent me a new charger stand, still nothing. Then they sent me a new hand unit, still nothing. So I finally made one last call. They said due to the extremely bad experience you have had with us, we will send you are new top of the line Ergorapido Ion. It is a powerhouse that has 2 speeds, and an 18v motor with there first Lithium Ion stick vacuum. It lasts 15 minutes on high with no bogging down right up until the last 20 seconds. It grooms medium pile carpet decently on the high speed. You must go slow otherwise the head just bounces up and down. On the low speed it lasts 30 minutes (only good on bare floors). We have two dogs and one cat and this does the trick for medium duty cleaning on the carpet in between real vacuuming. Great item to have in my collection. (Especially since I didn't have to pay the $249.99 MSRP.

those older ergorapido's where pure crap,i saved one from the trash awhile back thinking it's my first electrolux and i would be a great vacuum.i was so disappointed.it barely vacuumed the dirt off TILE in stick vac mode,only lasted maybe 3 minutes charge,and would only vacuum up dirt in handheld mode.i couldn't even figure out how to open the darn thing.the only way i saw to empty it was a little hole in the front of the dustcup.i'm SO unhappy with mine's proformance,to think it costed 100$ new, atleast they redid it with an ion battery,so it's probley not to bad other than the costs, i laghed my butt of when i saw a swivel sweeper comecial and the thing mushed and pushed green beans all over the floor,i always trusted electrolux as a great brand,but now adays there products can't match up to there old tanks.

I wonder if the new Electrolux canisters and uprights are any good? They definitely went downhill since the brand switchup. My grandma has a Discovery III that she uses to this day, absolutely bulletproof in all aspects.
