So I went to an antiques fair today and I spotted a blue, vintage canister vacuum. At a distance, I could make out "Electro" on the side of it and thought for a second it might be an Electrolux LX but when I got up to it, I saw that it was an Electro-Hygiene". When I looked at the price tag, I saw that the seller had mis-identified it as an "Electrolux Electro-Hygiene". I got a little chuckle out of it, and even though it appeared to be in nice shape and had a box of tools with it, the $75 they were asking was more than I wanted to pay and I wasn't in the mood for a haggle, so I left it where it was and let my self-imposed vacuum moratorium stand.

Later, I saw a similar vintage Kenmore canister that had been converted into a lamp. It looked pretty cool but not to my taste, especially for the asking price, so again I just walked away.

No regrets...

While I saw some interesting stuff out there, the whole trip to the antiques fair just served to reinforce the fact that I have too much junk.

I believe we went to the same fair, based on that poorly done Kenmore Commander lamp, with the 150$ price tag. Someone must have nabbed that electro-hygiene however, as I went both days and never saw another vacuum. All in all, such things are based around furniture and yard art being sold at obscene prices, but its always nice to claim the overlooked "little electrics" hiding in the piles. Its good fun.
