Electrolux DustBrush Combo Issue

I have 2 Elux dustbrush combo's of this style (also 2 1205 style and 2 early all white's). One of these has 2 good wings, the other, a decent brush. Is there a way to put the 2 good wings on the one with a good brush? The one wing on the good brush is either chewed or melted.

Doesn't the brush pull out? Or am I thinking older ones

The brush inserts just pull out, there are several small projections that hold the brush in place. Find where the metal strip on the brush seperates and pull on the bristles to bring up the metal end then work your way around the brush getting the metal strip past the little catches.

To put the brush in just start at one end and push the brush into the housing, working your way around the brush. You might need a screwdriver to push the end down in and get the ends to line up.

If you warm the plastic you can get the wings out of the brush housing if you want to save those.

Hi Andy!! You can take the good brush out by carefully prying it out with a small flat screwdriver. I've done this many times and it works. Keep in touch, Toby G.

Which brush would be better to pry out first to learn what is involved? The bad brush in the good housing or the good brush in the bad housing? In other words, which one would be better to make a mistake on and learn what's involved? Just curious...

Try the one with the bad housing, you're probably way more likely to damage the housing and not the brush if something goes awry!

I got the brushes switched. Only mistakes is the good brush isnt sitting right, i didnt get it pushed in all the way. Other problem being i accidentally let the screwdriver slip and it cut a small part of the rubber membrane inside the brush. I will try to re-seat the brush tomorrow as im whipped. Been working on my uncles old corvette all morning (a long time project. finally runs, but is rough) and insulated the barn all afternoon. Going to post pictures tomorrow and on Wednesday, expect updated collection photos

SuperSweeper: great answer! I kind of thought so...but was not sure which part was more fragile and in danger of "injury"....

It's no wonder vaclad is tired: insulated a barn? Just thinking about it is making me tired! :-D

Haha! i was going to all day yesterday but the car was too tempting. had to wait for the load of insulation at 11:15 anyways
