Electrolux Discovery III ... 2 versions?

I have come across two versions of the Discovery III. One that looks similar, if not identical, to the Discovery II/1500C called the Model 1500; and one that is in the colors of the Marquise (sand with taupe accents). Please let me know if that is accurate, or of there may have been a misprint.

Sand/Taupe Discovery III (I don't have the model id for this one; I have noticed that the machines--canisters and uprights--that were to have been sold in department stores and through mail order companies have had the bold 'Electrolux' wordmark with no "boat-shaped" border unlike other machines in that era. So, would this one have been only been sold in those venues?):

The D3 was only Taupe. Someone has replaced the D2 pn hood with that of a D3 in the pictures.

Discovery uprights

The missing piece in base air vents in first pic was reason for one change.Broken swing down cord hooks led to improved cord storage.
Disc II was April 86.Later Disc III with plug in cord and 2 cord hooks molded in at bottom of handle.Then Dics II continued as standard model with Disc III features and Disc II colors.Disc for other stores was usually blue or red Regency series.
There was also an early Disc II private label for Pullman Holt.

Thanks for your responses Doug (#4) and Jimmy (#5).

Doug - I could see that as being a possibility, but the background of the name label is jade. Based on what you and Jimmy have said, though, I wonder if the Roman numerals give the appearance of III instead of II? I had that reaction when I saw the label on the attachments box.

Jimmy - Interesting facts about the changes from DII to DIII. I do still wonder why the wordmark on some machines was different than the familiar "boat-shaped" logo? It seems that the bold 'Electrolux' letters would catch a shopper's eye more than the regular logo. I can't shake the feeling that the DIIIs, and other machines with the bold wordmark were mainly meant for marketing rather than direct sales. Correspondingly, the 'Discovery III label is more eye-catching than the Discovery II label. The marketing of DIIIs would also support the fact that the DIIs were still sold in direct sales after the DIIIs were marketed.

The two different models I mentioned above--1500 and 1500C--probably mark the DII's updates you mentioned.
