Electrolux Dark Gray Ambassador Floor/Rug Tool Sought

Help Support VacuumLand:

It seems to me that your Model C101G/Ambassador III would have originally been equipped with the remake of the Model XXX floor tool--with the plastic coal-colored holder (see photo below from a current eBay listing of the C102G and its attachments).

The combo floor/rug tool may have been an option and thus more rare; although I do wonder if they were discontinued during the run of the gray machines (1995-97*), as I have never seen one that would match the color of the attachments you pictured. One would surmise, anyway, that Electrolux continued its custom of making all its attachments in the same colors (including trim & bumpers).

Even the gray & coal-colored Model C102D/Epic 6500 SR was equipped with a version of the floor tool with a swivel connector compatible with an electric wand. I am unsure if the top-tiered Renaissance cleaners had a floor/rug tool or the same one as the Epic 6500 SR's.

*The 1994-95 Model C104A/Renaissance's color scheme was coal with gray trim. The other lines remained in their navy & lt. sand colors until the improved Model C104H/Renaissance in the opposite color scheme debuted a year or so later.

Correction

The eBay listing is for a Model C101G (not C102G--75th anniversary Epic 6500SR).

Sure would have been nice if Electrolux would have used the same model suffixes in all their lines of the same era!

I realize the combo floor/rug tool was an option, but it was made and in that color. I saw one some time ago before I needed ("wanted") one. I've been offered the bare-floor-only tool but it's just not what I'm looking for. I know there's one out there somewhere for me!

Well, none of the current eBay listings (or recent past listings) have the tool with the Renaissance cleaners which I find peculiar if it were available at that time. Conversely, it is not uncommon to see the attachment with the Epic 8000s and other later cleaners.

I do wonder if you may have seen a Model 1521/Ultralux CE's floor/rug tool at some point? The attachment color looks quite similar--if not identical--to the ones for the gray/coal cleaners.

I have only ever seen one Ultralux CE and all it had was the power nozzle and dusting brush. Not saying the combo brush for it wasn't the same color; just that that's not where I saw it. It was with the dark-gray Ambassador.

Not the best view of the floor/rug tool, but it is what we're talking about. In fairness, the owner may have gotten it during the C101G-era. It is interesting to note that the short crevice tool matches the pn hood and hose handle while the combo tools are lighter. In addition, the Sidekick doesn't match the colors at all (and, yes, they did make a coal-colored Sidekick II for the C104A). So the attachments & accessories are not all original to the CE.

If I had a CE (and, in fact, it hadn't come with matching tools) I would purchase the current black-colored tools for it. Original or not, they would match nicely.

I wonder if the owners manuals would be any help? Even if the tool is just stated as an option that would help.
