Circa 1961 FRONT SIDE (presenting the new aqua Model G canister & attachments--note the aqua B-7 floor polisher-scrubber and Turbotool rug washer which preceded the B-8 floor polisher-scrubber and new rug washer, respectively, that debuted about a year later):
Circa 1968 (when the Model 1205 made its debut): Terrific Teal!!!! Note the red "boat-shaped" border around the 'Electrolux' letters. In the last version, around 1972, I think the border was black.
Circa 1971 (going by the non-telescopic wand, teal PN-1, the woman's wig--popular around that time, and of course the groovy avocado green carpeting!):
Circa 1974 (note that the gold B-8 floor polisher-scrubber is hadn't yet made its debut; it's hard to detect in this photo, but the "boat-shaped" border around the Electrolux letters was gold--it was black on the Super J. This is the first Electrolux machine to have both a name (Golden J) and a model id (1205 J); previously only model ids were given) Grand Gold!!!!
Circa 1977 FRONT SIDE (the year the first upright, Model 1363, made its debut. Ah, yes, the gold B-8 floor polisher-scrubber. Note the white hose with the trio of teal/gold/teal stripes just like the Golden J's): Grand Gold!!!!
Great pictures and information. I really enjoyed looking at the photos. That green carpet is hideous though... Not because of the color...because it looks like huge bunches has been pulled out and is lying there like big green dust bunnies.
1986 FRONT SIDE New Discovery II (replaces the Model 1451-E--not shown on this thread--which debuted with Diamond J/1521 and had the same colors; DII is the first 'L-shaped' power nozzle upright; also same colors as Diamond J/1521):
