Does anyone have any information on this "Concordia"-labeled Omni-Flo Automatic power nozzle by Electrolux? No model id was stamped in the typical place.

The grid background on the label is the same as that of the Hi-Tech 2100-labeled ones (1986-88).

I am going to take a wild guess here. A Google search shows that here in Canada, there are 2 Concordia University's....One in Montreal, Quebec, & the other in Edmonton, Alberta. Plus, in the Concordia name on the PN, in the last A I see what looks to be a Canadian flag. In addition, as you noted above, the label grid looks to be similar to a 2100 PN label, & the 2100 I believe was sold only in Canada in the 1980's, not in the USA. So I am guessing that this might have been made for a Canadian university, to be used on campus or sold to it's graduates. Or, that it might be some sort of Canadian special edition canister & PN. Hopefully, Doug Smith, "Collector2", our resident Canadian Electrolux expert, will chime in here, but that's my guess.

Edgar,

Thanks for your response. I too, wondered why no model id was stamped. Perhaps--as happened with Hoover cleaners (since those were also stamped on later instead of being on a pre-printed name plate)--it was a result of error. One would think that no matter the label the model would be used for identification and record-keeping.

I also wanted to mention that the photos are from an eBay listing.

Thanks again.

Rob,

Thanks for your insights. You may be correct. I missed the Canadian maple leaf (which I recall was on some of Electrolux (Canada) Ltd's literature and labels back in the day. Good eye! I do wonder if the Hi-Tech 2100 tank (which, by the way, was sold in the USA after the 1985 merger of Electrolux Ltd. and Electrolux Corporation) was rebadged "Concordia"?

Fyi ... "Concordia" is used extensively in the Lutheran Church of which I'm a member. It refers to the Formula of Concord (Agreement), one of the Church's statements of faith written in Germany in AD 1577. As a result, we also have entities such as congregations, schools, colleges, and universities with that name. I'm not suggesting that Lutherans are the only ones to use the name but wanted to mention that it is a popular one in its circles.

Thanks again.

When the VCCC went to the Electrolux factory (back when I was President of the VCCC), they were making Concordia-labeled vacuums and bags. I have one of the bags. Those branded machines were made for sale outside of the USA. They had both 120 as well as 240 volt versions. They even had a special 100 volt model for Japan, that also had an additional feature of the brush roller shutting off when the nozzle was picked up from the floor.

Okay, sounds like the mystery is solved. I was going to suggest that since it doesn't say "Electrolux" anywhere on it, it might be a private label brand for a third party retailer.

I see... they couldn't sell them as Electrolux machines outside of the country because there was already another Lux out there. Pretty cool. I'd love to see an actual machine with the Concordia name.

I'd like to see a Concordia cleaner, too. I'm guessing it looks very similar--if not identical--to the Hi-Tech 2100s.

Thanks for the information, Tom.
