Hello,

I was wondering; did Electrolux ever advertise on TV or radio? Was it simply word of mouth and door to door? Also if they advertised on TV or Radio, did they have a "theme song?"

This I can answer.....

They did in fact advertise on TV although they claim that word of mouth and door to door is the best advertising there is. However, when they brought out the Renaissance, (the first-I think-right Charles? all plastic top line model, they actually ran an info-mercial. I have a copy of that on VHS. It's not a bad program. Really it's an in home demo on video. But they start the show showing old museum quality Lux's from years past. Three or four of them. As far as those three-in-the-morning shows go, it was not bad at all....That Tape was given to me by the service manager at our local dealer. We used to talk Lux for hours. I think he just loaned it to me, but when I had gone in for more bags, He had Quit, so I never returned it.

I haven't seen any Electrolux commercials, nor the Renaissance infomercial. I sure would like a copy of that!

I -do- recall one of the game shows - The Price is Right, I think - that had as a prize a tan G Electrolux.

there is a clip on youtube of TPIR where one of the commercials is for Electrolux. I think the brown metal model is shown...

Electrolux commercials

I have that same infomercial on tape. I just happened to turn on the TV late one night and there was a salelady taking a new Electrolux into a customers house. I thought is was very effective in showing the new model and the advantages of owning an Electrolux.They show old models too. Electrolux used to advertise on the newly wed tv show. The model 1205 was given as a prize.

I'm not sure how it is done, but on the home page there is a button to click called video downloads and there are a couple video there already. I am sure that Fred would be able to help us with this. This video would be great to have here.
