Rob,

Thanks for the reply (#74). All joking aside, I have gotten the impression that Canadian Electroluxes had an edge over their USA counterparts. For example, I've heard that the cleaners you had out during the Model G and GH era were quieter than they were. In addition, your triple-brush machines had cord winders long before ours and your telescopic wands were improved rather than taken out of production. That's why I wouldn't have been surprised to learn that the Electrrolux (Canada) Ltd. bags were superior in quality than Electrolux Corporation's.

I wish I could give more details about those bags. But alas, my memory fails me. I'm sure I acquired them with a vacuum that I purchased along the way. But I've never been in the habit of saving old bags. Wish I had now!!!

The sheer notion that Canada Lux's machines were "superior" to the American Lux's is pretty hilarious. There were no large scale differences in the machines. There is no evidence their Model G's were quieter. I've heard both and there is no noticeable difference. The U.S. Lux Hospital G was probably the quietest vacuum ever made (at least at the time). Canada Lux's telescopic wands WERE taken out of production long ago. Canada Lux did obtain a 2 speed motor before the U.S. did. They had a few other minor differences before the Canada only models were phased out. All previous American and Canadian models were dwarfed by the coming of the Renaissance. The Renny was a technological revolution in vacuums.

Pretty disappointed in you kevin for buying into such nonsense. I had thought you were more reasonable. I had thought your threads were interesting until they veered into the realm of petty nonsense.
