Hello, I am leaning towards an electrolux b8 for my hardwood floors, but am also considering the GE Chrome floor polisher. I don't care about having a tank. Just want it to scrub and polish floors. I would like to know how they compare, and which motor is the strongest. Thank you.

I'd go G-E,

I've had my old Sunbeam polisher (Which went out after about 50 years from the previous owner) scrubbing my floors, and now use a Penncrest (Hoover). they're great machines, the results on my floors is always astounding!

I have a G-E Mixer and toaster oven, they used to make quality products!

On other thread I was talking about an Electrolux polisher which failed soon. But on the other hand, my father bought in 1970 a GE Chrome floor polisher made in Brazil which so far is still polishing floors, not at my house anymore but at my job. That good machine was very little repaired, I changed twice the carbons, and once the cable. Just that. I think it's an incredible machine for such an extended long life. Now the brushes are asking for an overhaul, but after 44 years of service!. Gus

once again,Electrolux!

If a small apt with part hard floors a 2 brush such as GE,Regina of Hoover is good.If a larger house with more hard floors you owe it to yourself to 'test drive'the 3 brush Elux. Many prefer the older simpler B-8.Everything from the brushes to the motor IS better.Easier to handle and balance.Handle folds down for storage. The B-8 will scrub, buff and polish any hard floor in house as well as scrubbing a patio or carport.Just use the proper combination of brush, scrub pad and soft pad for the particular job. These are often found in very good low milage condition with sometimes only yearly use until people forget how good they are and what they do.

Jimmy is 100%

Correct, my experience with a GE polisher is its too light weight to do much, the Electrolux is by far the best ever made, no comparison, the old Kenmores are heavy and do well also.

Darn!

I already bought the GE. It doesn't even look like it was used. Yes, I can see how the 3 wheeler would be a lot better. They are cheap enough I'm going to get an electrolux b8. Thank you! :)

For the size room we have, it's all open area kitchen, den and dining, the Advance would be ideal. It's not in my budget right now because I just bought an electrolux canister, too. And, I need an upright. This new junk from Big Lots doesn't cut it, so I'm buying old good machines. Maybe later I can get an Advance. Thanks for posting, I had not heard of these, and this would be ideal.
